Friday the 13th

Friday January 13th
Adalyn, my tough athletic girly girl, loves to wear tutus.  She wears them to school, to church, to the grocery store, and occationally to bed.  I wonder when it stops being ok to wear them becuase I love the free spirit they represent.  Since I am unfortunetly too old to wear one without being ridiculed I"ll settle for enjoying Adalyn spin and dance in hers!

Saturday January 14th
My mom thought it would be funny to buy Mr. Wilson booties for Christmas, I tried to explain to her that Mr. Wilson was a boy dog and did not deserve the humiliation of wearing pink plaid booties, but I lost the arguement!

Sunday January 15th

The girls were so excited about the snow today, they spent hours outside playing in it.  Their cheeks were rosey red, their little finger frozen through, and snot-cicles were quickly forming but nothing would bring them inside.  As I watched them I began to wonder when and why adults lose this child like behavior.  Why do adults run for warmth after such a short time in the cold, why don't we throw ourselves on the ground and make snow angels the minute the snow begins to stick.  I thought about all the fun things adults seem to miss out on, such as playing onstop in the cold snow, playing in the sand, and and staying out until dark riding bikes with friends.  I watched them play a few minutes longer and then after I kringed at the thought of playing in the sand, I laced up the snow boots and headed outside for a snowball fight.
